Johnson County, Indiana Warrant Search

Law enforcement agencies in Johnson County submit probable-cause affidavits to Superior, Circuit, and city courts when seeking warrants to search places for evidence of crimes or arrest suspected offenders. Judges can also issue warrants, called bench warrants, for the arrest of defendants who disobey court orders to appear before a court or meet certain judicial obligations, such as probation, child support payments, or community service.

Since court records are declared public under the Indiana Access to Court Records Rule 4, warrants and their supporting probable cause statements are presumed public. However, some active warrants may not be disclosed if public access could risk flight, endanger another person, or derail criminal investigations.

Restrictions are generally lifted once the warrants are executed. At the same time, some search warrants may not be immediately public even after execution, especially when they are part of ongoing investigations.

One can review details about publicly available warrants on the MyCase portal, as the Chronological Case Summary section displays when probable cause affidavits were filed and orders were issued. Searchers can contact the Clerk of Courts to inspect the related documents or order copies.
